Te Nam Te Ta is a café located in the Song Wat area. We invited local elderly residents and young community members via social media to join a creative upcycling workshop.
Participants created photo frames from recycled cardboard and fabric scraps. The aim was to give new life to waste materials while encouraging intergenerational bonding.
We emphasized freedom and creativity over strict instructions, allowing each participant to design a unique frame to hold meaningful memories. The soft background music and relaxed atmosphere helped foster social interaction, mindfulness, and stress relief.
This session showed us how weaving and crafting can serve as a bridge—connecting youth and the elderly through shared creativity and meaningful interaction.
